Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC) is a flagship initiative of Kerala Startup Mission to promote innovation and entrepreneurship among the student and academic fraternity in the educational institutions in the State of Kerala and is considered as an umbrella programme that would play an instrumental role in fostering innovation culture in academic institutions. The concept of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC) is formulated to promote innovation and entrepreneurial culture in educational institutions and to develop institutional mechanisms to foster techno-entrepreneurship for generation of wealth and employment. The IEDCs are established in academic institutions across Kerala having requisite expertise and infrastructure. In general, an IEDC is a center that fosters innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship among students and faculty members.
Our aim is to create an innovation culture among Innovators by introducing them the State-of-the-art technologies and positioning the institution as a learning and innovation platform by delivering technically competent and skilled entrepreneurs. Some of the common activities that an IEDC may carry out are:
Business Incubation: An IEDC typically provides support and resources to startups and entrepreneurs, including office space, access to mentors and advisors, funding opportunities, and training and support services to help entrepreneurs launch and grow their businesses.
Entrepreneurship Education: Workshops, seminars, and training programs are often provided to help students and faculty develop key entrepreneurial skills such as business planning, marketing, finance, and networking.
Research and Development: Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centres often support research and development efforts to help faculty and students develop new products and technologies.

Hackathons and Idea Generation Sessions: An IEDC may also organize hackathons and brainstorming sessions to bring together students and faculty from various disciplines to collaborate and generate new ideas.
Pitching and Funding Opportunities: An IEDC may also organize pitching competitions and provide access to funding opportunities for startups and entrepreneurs.
Industry Collaboration: An IEDC may collaborate with local businesses and industries to provide internships, mentorship programs, and other industry-related opportunities for students and faculty members.
Community Outreach: An IEDC may also organize events and activities to promote entrepreneurship and innovation in the broader community and engage with local startups and businesses.
