SHE ( Scheme for Her Empowerment )

About SHE

SHE ( Scheme for Her Empowerment ) in Engineering Education was envisaged in GCE Kannur in 2020 and was a change project undertaken under AICTE- UKERI scheme. Its successful implementation has impelled the Directorate of Technical Education to upgrade it as a State level programme with its affiliates in all other Govt. Colleges and Polytechnics.   The state-level programme was inaugurated by the honourable minister of Higher Education Dr.R. Bindu, on 18th November 2022 in GEC Kannur with the participation of the representatives from all Engineering Colleges and Polytechnics of Kannur Kasaragod districts.

SHE @EKNM GPTC Thrikaripur is meant to give the girl students the exposure and experience they require to fulfill their career demands eventually. Great things are achieved by a series of small things brought together. With this in mind, various programmes are proposed under this scheme. The implementation of this programme will help the girl students for their self-improvement, making them independent thinkers who can logically articulate their insights and become citizens with high reflections.

The vision of the scheme  is   “to create professionally successful and personally fulfilled women engineers.”

With this vision, SHE was inaugurated in our college on 19-12-2022  by our respected Principal Smt.Bhagayasree Devi and DMO Kasaragod District. It was an auspicious day as it was on the same day we celebrated the international year of millets, An exhibition was conducted on the same day and it was highly successful as many students visited the stalls and learned about the importance of millets in daily diet.
